We have extensive experience on pulp and paper mills, saw mills, power plants, co-generation plants, material handling conveyors, galleries, pipe and equipment modules, head-frames, shafts, mining equipment supports, refineries, warehouses, office buildings, hospitals, airports, schools, Architecturally Exposed Steel Structures (AESS), fabricated steel icons, signature and monumental buildings, water and sewage treatment plants, chutes, hoppers, bins, stacks, stoplogs, hydro-electric gates, and bridges.
Empire Iron Works’ plants utilize the latest automated technologies to fabricate the steel components accurately and efficiently at competitive costs. Our equipment is connected to the steel detailing software used by our detailing division to electronically share data and provide error free work.
Our plants are capable of cleaning and painting the fabricated products with a broad range of coatings from simple primers and one-coat systems to multi-coat high performance coatings. Steel is shot blasted and coatings are applied using state of the art paint pumps and spray equipment. Large pieces are sandblasted to achieve the required surface cleanliness and profiles.
Project managers are focused on working with you to deliver cost effective structures in a timely manner. They work with the drawing office and our engineers to ensure that momentum is maintained on your project. If there is a better way, we will recommend alternative design solutions that can save our clients both time and money. We use industry specific design software to develop these alternate framing schemes that will allow you to make informed budgetary decisions.
We use state of the art technology to purchase and track all steel that is used on your project. Our global sources ensure that we will have the right material size and grade available in a timely manner. Our component tracking system allows us to monitor shop drawing, fabrication and erection progress and adjust our focus as necessary. Our schedulers utilize Primavera to keep your schedules on track.
The Canadian Welding Bureau has certified Empire Iron Works plants to CSA W47.1 – Division 1 level. Our welding engineers can work with you to solve the trickiest welding problems. Our welders are tested and ticketed bi-annually to verify their skill level. Our quality assurance program, audited by Quasar to the Canadian Institute of Steel Construction’s “Quality Guideline”, will satisfy meet your most demanding quality needs.
